Here at Powella Productions, we have been busy with our LionHearted Players "HAVE A HEART" charitable community activities for 2010 and 2011. 2010 was a busy year! On New Year's day, Co-Producer Miss Ella volunteered time at Materials for the Arts and met Mayor Bloomberg while helping to sort donated office supplies. Powell Leonard and Miss Ella also pledged a donation to Singer/Songwriter Mindy Raf's Kickstart a Comedy Record campaign. The LionHearted players also donated to Queens Living Liberally and also to Long Island City's GreenSpace dance studio. And, the LionHearted players are proud to have made a donation to Councilman Peter Vallone, Jr.

We got to shake hands with the Honorable Vallone when he stopped by the Undercroft Performance Space at Trinity, Long Island City, while Powell Leonard, the LionHearted Players fearless leader, helped with collecting clothing and canned goods for emergency relief efforts.

In 2011 Powell Leonard and Miss Ella continue to volunteer at Trinity's food pantry serving needy families in the area.

The LionHearted Players are the little lions with a great big HEART!

About Producer/Director Powell Leonard
When Powell Leonard is not organizing the food pantry as a volunteer at Trinity or at work assisting property tax payers through the New York City Department of Finance, he writes for and directs the Queens-based sketch comedy troupe The LionHearted Players and produces “The KONG SHOW,” the biggest little comedy variety show assisting “starving artists” by providing venues for networking and performing.

About Co-Producer, Miss Ella
Ella works with various non-profit organizations promoting their special events and projects. Along with her spouse, Powell Leonard, she co-produces Powella Productions' “KONG SHOW” featuring the Queens-based LionHearted Players sketch comedy troupe. Last year she began, LionHearted Players "HAVE A HEART," a volunteerism initiative dedicated to donating time and resources to local community groups.
